You turn on the lights , open a glass of wine and listen to nothing but the cicadas.
At the heart of the villa stands a beautiful , ancient carob tree.The house was thoughtfully built around it , making the tree the soul of the property . This is where the villa take its name - Charoupi , the Greek word for carob.
For an authentic taste of Crete , the villa also features a traditional wood-fired oven , handmade by a local craftsman from Lasithi - perfect for memorable meals with family and friends.
And when you don’t feel like cooking : right across from you , a small taverna awaits , with authentic , traditional Cretan dishes. Ntakos , horta , pies , artichokes , all made just as Grandma used to make them.
Almiros Beach is only 6km away, while the centre of Agios Nikolaos, with its restaurants , coffee shops, local shops and beautiful Lake Voulismeni, is also just 6km from the villa.
